Va Bene Pasta Deli is Love

I’ve been to quite a number of Italian restaurants in the Metro but recently, there are 2 restaurants that have made an impact on me in terms of taste, freshness of ingredients and quality of food. One of them is Va Bene Pasta Deli. The other Italian restaurant I’ll feature in my next blog entry.

This is a small restaurant located in the Petron Gas Station along EDSA across Dusit Hotel.

I knew about this restaurant thru my friend, Jeff and fellow foodie who has been raving about it since he is a big fan of Italian food.

The timing was perfect since coming from a meeting in Makati, my team’s next meeting was at the Fort so lunch would be somewhere in between those 2 areas.

It’s a very cozy restaurant that can seat around 20 people. Perfect for dates or a quiet dinner with friends ๐Ÿ™‚

Now let’s get down to the food.

For starters, they served us this complimentary bread with tomato, herbs, parmesan and olive oil dip.

So yummy! Couldn’t stop eating this. Appetizer pa lang yan ha ๐Ÿ™‚

Next, we ordered Buffalo Mozzarella with tomatoes, capers and mixed lettuce in balsamic reduction (P370)

Presentation was very beautiful. The vegetables were so fresh, it’s like it came straight from the garden ๐Ÿ™‚

We then ordered 3 pasta dishes.

First was the Organic Eggs Tagliolini with Portobello mushrooms, white wine cream sauce and truffle oil (P380)

It was sooooo delicious!!! Since they only use home-made pasta, the texture is very different from the commercial ones. I highly recommend this dish.

Up next was the Vegetable Ricotta Tortellini with Light Arrabiata Sauce and Basil Pesto (P390)

This was just ok just because I’m not really a big fan of tomato sauce. Again, I will emphasize on the high quality of their pasta since it’s homemade. Very fresh. I like it.

Lastly, we tried the Chicken Capellacci with Gorgonzola Cheese Sauce and Wild Nuts (P420)

I liked this dish. The combination of the chicken and gorgonzola sauce was good. I’m just not so sure though about the nuts. Although it actually gave a kick on the dish because of its texture ๐Ÿ™‚

We didn’t order dessert anymore since we were running out of time and we had to leave for our next meeting.

I would love to try their other dishes next time like their pizzas and their black ink spaghetti with seafood marinara (I didn’t try this just because I had a meeting after and the squid ink might stay on my teeth :P)

Overall, two thumbs up for Va Bene Pasta Deli! This restaurant is highly recommended ๐Ÿ™‚
